Health and Wellness Workshop Series

The World Health Organization defines wellness as “a state of complete mental, physical, and social well-being, not merely the absence of disease or infirmity.” Although many of AHP’s services are designed specifically for people living with HIV or chronic disabling mental illness, we also offer services that promote this state of well-being in all members of the broader lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and queer (LGBTQ) community.

Our services include workshops and other activities intended to bring together members of the communities we serve. Examples of past workshop topics include: Dating, Relationships, and Sex; Body Image; Embracing Being Single; and Aging.

Life on All Fours—
Book Signing and Reading

AHP Services Center
1930 Market Street
FEBRUARY 26, 2015, 6:30pm–8:00pm

Join AHP volunteer group facilitator David Fredrickson as he reads from his just-published volume, signs books, and answers questions about Life on All Fours. Writer, advocate, and psychotherapist, David has dedicated his career and volunteer activities to those voices that are often unheard, including at-risk children, adolescents, and families, and people affected by HIV/AIDS. Life on All Fours chronicles the experience of crisis, healing, and love in the time of HIV/AIDS, told with the wide-eyed wonder of a puppy. A portion of the book sales will benefit AHP.

Review on Amazon for Life on All Fours:
“David Fredrickson’s writing is honest and touching. The story is about friendship, family, love and loss and 100% San Francisco. The dog’s voice is gentle, playful and filled with very funny insights into humans and how we act. Wonderful companion for a Sunday afternoon in the park!”
