Capacity Building Assistance Partnership

AHP is one third of the UCSF Capacity Building Assistance Partnership, a powerful collaboration of the Center of Excellence for Transgender Health, the Center for AIDS Prevention Studies, and the Alliance Health Project—three leaders in the field, each with decades of experience in HIV prevention.

We help frontline HIV organizations nationwide meet their own and their funders’ goals in four areas: HIV and STD Testing, prevention with HIV-negative people at highest risk, prevention with people with HIV, and working with LGBTQ communities. Our key services include:

  • Training, including both customizable trainings and the CDC’s High-Impact Prevention (HIP) intervention trainings: Mpowerment, Personalized Cognitive Counseling (PCC), Testing Together, Healthy Relationships, and Project START
  • Completely customizable Technical Assistance targeting your agency’s particular needs
  • A library of resources, including toolkits, factsheets, publications, and other how-to materials

The partnership helps community-based organizations achieve excellence by cultivating their own strengths and supplementing them with new skills, training around evidence-based interventions, and technical assistance in areas of particular relevance to the goals of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and the National HIV/AIDS Strategy.
